CKAN 2.12 Improves Large Dataset Downloads by Up to 15x
CKAN 2.12 solves the large dataset download problem. A 13-million-record dataset that took 30 minutes — or timed out — now downloads in 2 minutes.
We are excited to announce that a new CKAN 3.0 taskforce has been formed, with the addition of two team members from Datopian! Please welcome Dragan and Svetozar! Both Dragan and Svetozar are highly skilled backend/CKAN developers and have joined CKAN Project on a long-term basis. They will work closely with the technical lead, Anuar Ustayev, and product owner, Alex Gostev, to form the CKAN 3.0 team.
What's next?
The CKAN 3.0 team will have regular meetings and work actively towards the goal of developing CKAN 3.0 - a goal we're truly passionate about. They will start with researching adding a capability to be working with graph databases to cover the gap we have for EU clients. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and fruitful work!
We're thrilled to have Dragan and Svetozar on board and can't wait to see their contributions!
Stay tuned for more updates!
